Hey there you casual dropper by to this boxxy fan blog,
This post is largely about me, your typical boxxy fan blogger.
I had been out of the internets scene for about 6 years, working on some things, getting involved in a bunch of non-internets related experiences. I’d done my foray into the real world. The real world, sometimes and often, sucks. I was depressed for a while, but no where near “an hero” level. In my depression I started to frequent the internets again, looking for something. Maybe trying to get back to where I was before all this real world yuckiness overtook me. The internets were still largely dull and lifeless, and didn’t do much for me. All my previous interests and fascinations were only dull memories.
That was the end of 2008, and the status of droopy dog pretty much continued through the summer of 2009.
In summer of 2009, I chanced upon a stray link to “knowyourmeme.com”. I jumped over there to my great amusement at videos discussing the origin and details of hilarious internet memes.
That’s when I saw her.
Boxxybabee, with her egyptian eye-liner, was looking at me through the internets.
The setup from Know Your Meme is 2 “internets scientists”, Jamie Dubbs and Ellie Roundtree, putting up posters with Boxxy’s picture saying,
HAVE YOU SEEN ME?
BOXXY

I was amused by the Know Your Meme video, enough to find the original footage of boxxybabee.
“My name is Boxxy,
and it’s been a while since I made a new video…”
My first impression of boxxy… well, she didn’t seem like a typical kid… she had too much presence, yes, even like a great actor or performer. The camera is truly her friend.
So there she was, talking to me, droppy dog as I was, in this sing-song voice, taking me through a roller coaster of happy exuberance for life and the internets.
Her video still gives me a boost, a laugh, a giggle, like watching a great comedy routine I’ve seen many, many times.
Boxxy video #3, “foar everywun”, is quite frankly a work of art. A perfect 5 minutes and 7 seconds improvised monologue. The verbal twists and turns, “flutterings of speech”, eye darts, playing to the camera, pauses, et. al., is an act to behold. One youtuber compared her to Jim Carey. I agree. The same energy, enthusiasm, and charisma is there. She is the real deal, an authentic voice in a sea of posers, “samefags”, and quite frankly boring people who try too hard.
Essentially, I created this blog in gratitude. Boxxy brought me back to the scene. She showed me the happiness it offers to just flow and connect. She gave me back my original love of the internets. She woke me up, back to what life can be. I simply want to give back the love that she shared on the internets, with the internets.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, I love you boxxybabee. (platonic of course)
Thank you babe with 2 e’s.
